No Longer Homeless - No April Fool's!

After some very frustrating days running up to closing on the new house, we finally closed on the house on Thursday and got keys to the place on Friday afternoon.  The address is 2825 Warwick Street, West Linn, OR  97068 if you want to make note or check it out on Google Maps.

We moved in some tools and materials Friday night and had some snacks with Seth and Cathy.  We took the weekend to do some work on the house and have house painters showing up on Monday to repaint most of the house.  The house has some dark avocado walls, and one of the bedrooms is merlot in color--so painting was required.  On Saturday, Neil and Seth painted the walls and ceiling in the garage, which brightened it up a lot.  Neil has some work rebuilding the workbench in the garage and installing shelving, and Pamela has been working on kitchen design and getting ready for the painters.

The painters will be working most of the week and the movers arrive the following week with our household goods.  We will be staying in the Fiver until probably mid week next week when we have our bedroom and kitchen set up.  In the meantime, we will will slowly begin to move things to the Warwick house and find places to put it. It is amazing how much stuff we have packed in the Fiver and in Seth Finney's shop.

We have had some very wet and windy weather here in Oregon over the past week.  Portland broke the all time record for rainfall in March, and today both the Columbia and Willamette Rivers have flood watches.  We are awaiting warmer weather to arrive so we can think about doing some things in the garden, but there is much to do inside first.

We also plan to connect this week with friends Jim and Judy from Juneau, who are one their way home from their RV trip in the Southwest.  We plan to show them the empty house and get together for dinner.

Thanks for visiting!
