We also took in the movie "Iron Lady" with Meryl Streep playing Margaret Thatcher, and enjoyed it. We also had dinner at Neil's all time favorite Chinese restaurant on 82nd street in Portland. The Canton Grill has been operating in Portland since 1944, and still has some of the best Chinese food around. We liked it so well that we got our favorites to go and will have it again tonight.
This coming week, in addition to working with a realtor, we will do a headlamp replacement on the Passat with the help of a relative of Pamela's who is a VW mechanic and lives in Molalla. It is good to have some local expertise.
On Thursday, we fly to Anaheim to visit Neil's brother and wife for the Super Bowl and to visit with family. We return to Molalla on Tuesday and will plan on spending more time looking for a home.
Neil and Seth Finney did get the Finney hot tub cover replaced and the gazebo frame over the hot tub repaired and ready for the new cover that should be here early in the week. We plan to check it out as soon as the rain and wind stops.
We got a photo from our friend Dave in Juneau who is still in our old house apartment of "a bit of snow" that they are having.
It is a good reminder why we are not spending winter there any longer. Neil has looked all over here in Oregon and has not found one rain shovel, so we guess this is the right place to be. Don't get us wrong, we have had a lot of rain and wind these past many weeks, but Juneau has been dumped with snow yet again, and it has been pretty cold. Thanks for visiting,
Neil and Pamela
