A very quiet day here at Eagle View. We both had a dental cleaning appointment in mid morning and then went to the harbor to sit in the sun until our lunch appointment with friends at the Hanger on the Wharf. It was sunny again (yea!) and we enjoyed the time reading and watching a few small boats in the harbor. There was even a guy trolling for salmon in a small skiff. We didn't see him catch anything, but he looked happy.

Last Saturday was the last cruise ship day for the season, so Juneau is done with the one million cruise ship visitors (plus crew) that arrive in a steady stream in mid May. Some folks are glad to "get their town back" and others will miss the dollars that arrive on every one of the big boats.
Some of the cruise ship owned stores are having their inventory packed up and shipped to the Caribbean where the same stores sell the same merchandise with the same sales people. There is a very good reason for the "buy from locals" slogan that many folks subscribe to. But then again we are not buying that many international diamonds or Columbian emeralds--maybe it is just us.

Tomorrow probably won't be as nice as today, but we are scheduled to have Ed Buyarski, Master Gardener come over and help us prune and clean up the garden. We will also give him our pond lilies and some other plants that he might be interested in. The plan for the week is to get the inside and outside of the house cleaned up a bit more for the Open House on Saturday. We have hopes that some interested buyers will result--wish us luck.
