A Day of Garden "De-Cluttering"

We weren't really sure that "de-cluttering" was a real word, so we looked it up on Google:

de·clut·ter/ˈdēklətər/

Verb: Remove unnecessary items from (an untidy or overcrowded place).

...Well, that pretty well describes what we did today in the yard.  We had our landscaper friend over to do some pruning while Pamela cut back some annuals and I burned up the trimmed rose bushes, katsura trees and other shrubs.  We did not do before and after shots and the differences are not really dramatic, but it does look a lot better.

We also dug up a few volunteer trees that he can recycle to others, and we gave him our pond lilies and were able to clean up the pond.  All in all, it was a productive afternoon and timing is good.  Next we will spread some mulch, do a little bit more weeding, and power wash the driveway.
