Oregon and Washington Travels

It has been a busy week, beginning with our trip down to Grants Pass, Oregon on Tuesday so that Pamela could attend a Creative Memories event, and then we were going on to Ashland, Oregon to attend a Shakespeare play.  Well, as they say if you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans.  We drove the 250 miles down to Grants Pass and stayed at a nice campground called River Park in Grants Pass.

When we got to Grants Pass, we got a call that Neil's step mother was in the hospital again after some surgery, and they asked for us to come up and provide some help.  We stayed one night and drove back home to West Linn and left the RV and took the VW up to Silverdale, Washington on Wednesday evening.  That meant nearly 500 miles of RV and VW driving on Wednesday--more than we have done in a single day  in a LONG time.

We were able to spend some time with Neil's Dad and Neta and help out a little bit, we think.  She is in recovery now, trying to regain some strength after the surgery.

While we were at the hospital in Bremerton, we saw a couple of car decals that we know that Neil's brother and some of his buddies in Alaska will really appreciate.  They are posted below:

Today (Sunday), we checked out of the hotel in Silverdale, said hello to Neil's Dad, and visited his step mother in the hospital before driving home to West Linn.  We arrived before dark, turned on the gas fireplace and settled in to our comfortable home.  Not too much else to share, but we appreciate your visiting.
